Improving website conversions after launch

20 Aug 2026

Most web agencies treat website launch as the final destination. The project is done and they move on to the next one, maybe offering some basic support. This post outlines a different approach that you'll probably prefer.

When you work with Brandspace on a new website the initial launch gives you a converting core of essential pages.

The following monthly work makes that core clearer, even easier to enquire on (based on performance review), and adds more supporting pages and content, targeting different stages of your buying cycle.

A lot of agencies call a website launch “done” and move you onto basic website maintenance.

Brandspace’s website management service funds a conversion loop after go-live: review performance, suggest the next move, implement it inside the plan. That is marketing-led work, which we unpack in marketing-led web design.

What we look at

We keep coming back to the places high-ticket buyers actually decide:

  • Homepage hero: who it’s for, what you do, why they should care
  • Service pages: offer clarity, next step, proof next to the claim
  • Enquiry path: form, call, chat, whether the ask matches how you sell
  • Proof: testimonials, work, people, whether it still feels current
  • Mobile: can someone act without pinching and guessing

If the site has already drifted into something you wouldn’t send a prospect, start with signs your service business website has gone stale. This page is the improvement work once you’ve decided to treat the site as a live system.

What a month of improvement can include

Stay inside plan scope. A typical month is a handful of commercial moves, not a second rebuild.

  • Copy shifts on a hero or service page so the message matches the sales conversation
  • Layout tweaks that make the next step obvious
  • Proof swaps: a stronger quote, a better case, updated team details
  • A clearer path to enquire on mobile
  • On Growth and PRO, a new page when the offer needs one. Website as a Service is included on both

You can also drop specific tasks in the client portal. We action those within your update allowance, and we bring suggestions so the site doesn’t only change when you remember to ask.

What happens in the first 90 days of a new website is when this rhythm usually settles in.

What this is not

This is on-site conversion work. It is not an SEO campaign, and it is not ads. On-site SEO is already part of the website plan. Off-site SEO (links, entity building, Google Business Profile) sits in SEO packages and should run at the same time. See when to add SEO after a new website.

We don’t promise a lead number. Markets, offers, and traffic sources all sit outside what a layout change can guarantee. We do own making the live site better at turning the attention you already get into the right enquiries.

A full rebuild is a different decision. That’s should you rebuild your website.

How this differs from unlimited updates

Unlimited website updates on PRO, and monthly update time on other plans, are how you request changes: a phone number, a photo, a paragraph that’s gone stale.

Conversion improvement is the work we bring: looking at whether the site is still doing its commercial job, then using plan time to implement. You need both. One is reactive. The other is the partnership thinking about enquiries.

Proof in practice

Service businesses on this kind of partnership do see the site work harder. GCG Dental Practice saw around a 30% increase in website traffic after redesign and ongoing management. Penylan Osteopathy went from no website leads to a steady flow. Results always depend on market and execution, and we don’t promise specific numbers.

More examples live on our work page.

We’re based in Swansea and work with service businesses across South Wales and beyond. Local readers can also see web design in Swansea.

If you want the site to keep getting better at winning enquiries after launch, look at Growth or PRO. That’s where there’s enough monthly room for improvement, not only a light holding pattern.

FAQs

Is this SEO?

No. This is on-site conversion: messaging, paths, proof, layout. On-site SEO is already part of the website plan. Off-site SEO (links, entity building, Google Business Profile) sits in SEO packages and should run at the same time.

How is this different from unlimited updates?

Updates are changes you request. Conversion improvement is the commercial review and implementation we run as part of the website management service. PRO includes unlimited routine updates so those two can happen without extra invoices.

Do you A/B test everything?

We don’t run a lab on every headline. We look at what’s getting in the way of enquiries, change the highest-leverage parts, and review. Formal testing happens when the traffic and the question are big enough to justify it.

When would you rebuild instead of iterating?

When the structure, brand, or technology is blocking conversion so badly that small monthly moves won’t get you there. We’ll say so rather than polishing a site that needs a core rework.
