Monthly care shouldn’t mean you don’t own the thing you’re paying to improve. A lot of owners like the idea of a website management service and still worry the agency will keep the keys.
This page is about ownership and exit. The wider model comparison lives on traditional web agency vs monthly website partnership. Plan inclusions live on what’s included in a managed website plan.
What stays yours from day one
Some things were never ours to keep.
- Your domain: you register it, or you already own it. We connect hosting. We don’t take the name.
- Your brand: logo, colours, photography, trademarks
- Content you bring: copy, case studies, testimonials, documents
We build and manage the site as part of the plan. That work sits inside a partnership with a clear ownership path, not a black box you’ll never get out of.
What happens after the initial term
After the initial term on your plan, the site is fully yours. Plans then run month to month. You can stay managed, upgrade, or step down.
That flexibility is the point of a monthly website management service. You’re not funding a huge upfront build with no way to change course, and you’re not locked into a product you can’t take with you.
Full current terms sit on the website plans page.
If you leave
You can stay on a managed plan, or move to a lighter hosting and maintenance setup if you want less active partnership. You can also take the site.
We don’t hold design files hostage. Domain stays in your name. After the initial term, the website itself is yours to keep running, move, or hand to someone else.
Owners coming from another agency often ask about this during handover. Switching web design agency covers that move from the other direction.
Why the monthly model still makes sense
Ownership and ongoing care can sit together. The monthly fee shares risk: Brandspace stays invested in a site that still performs, because the relationship continues while the partnership is delivering.
You get design, hosting, updates, and improvement inside one plan, with a clear exit. That is a long-term partnership with an honest off-ramp, which is what most high-ticket service businesses actually want when they hear “subscription.”
We’re based in Swansea and work with service businesses across South Wales and beyond. Local readers can also see web design in Swansea.
If lock-in is the thing that’s been stopping you, look at the plans and ask Matt how ownership works on the term you’d actually sign. Most ambitious service businesses choose Growth or PRO.
FAQs
Who owns the domain?
You do. We handle the technical side of connecting hosting as part of the plan.
What about the design and the codebase?
After the initial term, the site is fully yours. We’ll be clear at the start about how handover works if you later move away.
How much notice do I need to leave?
Plans run month to month after the initial term. Check the current terms on website plans, or ask Matt and we’ll talk you through it.
Can I move to hosting only?
Yes. After the initial term you can stay fully managed, upgrade, or move to a lighter hosting and maintenance setup if that suits you better.
